The Seattle Seahawks staged a stunning fightback to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in overtime, clinching their place in the postseason.

Overcoming a 30-14 hole in the final period, the Seahawks triumphed 38-37 at home, registering their fifth consecutive win.

While the Los Angeles had become the first to earn a post-season berth earlier on game day, the Seahawks booked their return to the play-offs after a 24-month absence.

With this result, the Seahawks have taken over their Conference race with a 12-3 record, replacing the Rams, who fell to the fifth seed with an eleven and four record.

Signal-caller Sam Darnold had two interceptions but regrouped to deliver two touchdown passes, culminating in the tying TD to star receiver Smith-Njigba in overtime.

The visitors held a 13-7 advantage at half-time before Kenneth Walker III burst through for a 55-yard scoring dash for the home side.

Rams cornerback Josh Wallace then returned Darnold's initial pick for 56 yards, leading to a short touchdown by Corum on the next play.

In the fourth quarter, a scoring pass from Stafford to Puka Nacua extended the Rams' lead to 30-14, but Rashid Shaheed provided Seattle's comeback with a 58-yard return for a score.

Darnold then connected with AJ Barner in the end zone, and a converted conversion sent the contest into overtime.

Although Nacua raced in for his another touchdown in OT, Smith-Njigba answered in kind to set up the game-winning score.
